Water that gets counted with your food

Tap a glass, and the running total sits next to today’s calories, protein and weight — on the same screen, not in a fourth app you forget to open.

Home screen: the water card reads 1.8 of 2.3 litres, with seven glasses filled and the next one ready to tap Weekly report: water by day as seven bars, 13,850 ml across the week against a 2,250 ml daily goal

How much water do you need?

This is the same arithmetic the app runs when it sets your goal: 30 ml per kilogram of body weight, kept between 1.25 and 4 litres, rounded up to a whole 250 ml glass. Change the weight and watch the goal move.

Nothing is sent anywhere — this runs in your browser.

2.3 litres a day

76 fl oz · 9 glasses of 250 ml

1.8of 2.3 L logged today

Per hour of hard exercise +0.7 L Hot weather +0.5 L

Those two are guidance, not part of the goal: roughly 350 ml for every 30 minutes of hard exercise, and more again when you are sweating in heat. The app sets the goal from weight and leaves the rest to you.

Three taps, and you are done for the day

Step 1

The goal is already set

You gave your weight when you signed up, so the water goal is there from the first day. Change it any time in your profile.

Step 2

Tap a glass

The card sits on your home screen under the day’s meals. One tap is 250 ml. Tap the one you are on to take it back.

Step 3

Read the week, not the day

One dry day means nothing. The weekly report draws seven bars next to the week’s calories, and the pattern is what you act on.

Weekly report: water by day as seven bars above the week’s biggest meals

The week tells you more than the day

The report puts water on the same page as calories, protein and your weight trend. You stop guessing whether the slow week was food or dehydration, because both are drawn for the same seven days.

  • Seven bars for seven days, so a dry Tuesday is visible without being alarming.
  • A day you never opened the app stays blank instead of counting as a zero — “didn’t log” and “drank nothing” are different things.
  • The same report carries the week’s calories, protein and your weight trend, so there is nothing to cross-reference.

Questions people actually ask

Is it really eight glasses a day?

No — that number has no clinical origin anyone can point to. Health bodies such as the European Food Safety Authority and the U.S. National Academies publish total water intakes that include what you get from food and from every other drink, which is why their figures look higher than what you actually pour. Body weight is the simplest honest anchor, and that is what the app uses.

Do coffee and tea count?

Yes. At normal intakes the diuretic effect of caffeine is small, and the fluid still counts toward your day. Log them as glasses if you want the total to reflect reality.

Does drinking more water help with weight loss?

A little, and indirectly. Trials where people drink water before meals show a modest drop in what they eat, and swapping sweetened drinks for water removes calories outright. It is a helpful habit, not a mechanism for losing weight on its own.

Can I track water and calories in one place?

That is the whole point of putting it here. Water sits under the day’s meals on the home screen and in the same weekly report as calories, protein and weight. There is no separate hydration app to install, open and abandon.

Will it remind me to drink?

Not on its own, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. You can set a repeating reminder in the app, but it fires on a schedule you choose — nothing yet watches your running total and nudges you only when you are behind. Hydration-aware reminders are on the list, not in the product.

Do I have to install anything?

No. ScanFood.AI runs inside Telegram and in any browser; from the browser you can add it to your home screen and it behaves like an installed app. Your data is the same either way.
